Overview:
A universal set of standards for print testing that is easily defined. This allows companies to compare products and research for quality and accuracy. Companies certified with the ISO standards must adhere to strict rules and guidelines. These rules are continuously changing and updating.
ISO 9000 is a family of standards for quality management systems. ISO 9000 is maintained by ISO, the International Organization for Standardization and is administered by accreditation and certification bodies. The rules are updated, as the requirements motivate changes over time.
ISO 9000:2005 Quality management systems – Fundamentals and vocabulary describes fundamentals of quality management systems, which form the subject of the ISO 9000 family, and defines related terms.
ISO 9001:2008 ISO 9001:2008 Quality management systems — Requirements is a document of approximately 30 pages which is available from the national standards organization in each country.
